In last 5 years, HKCSS has been at the forefront of social housing development launching two significant projects: The Community Housing Movement Project and the Modular Social Housing Project since 2017 and 2019 respectively in order to support the Government to tackle issues of unaffordable and indecent housing environment of the grassroots. These projects aim to provide short-term relief to meet the housing needs of vulnerable groups and improve their community lives in their respective residential districts.
This conference aims to explore how housing design and social programs can enhance the well-being of residents, particularly low-income families with children, and the elderly. We are inviting local and overseas guest speakers to share their best practices in social and public housing, as well as their experiences in implementing housing projects. Their experience and forward-looking views will be invaluable to the Hong Kong’s social and public housing development. We hope the seminar can provide a platform for overseas relevant parties and the audiences to exchange experience, research and knowledge on supporting services for social and public housing in Hong Kong.
