It is not uncommon for NGOs to use materials of printed or audio-visual media, such as showing films or playing music, in the course of their service delivery. Some of them have been approached by the licensing bodies for royalty charges to use different kinds of copyright works. To facilitate agencies to better understand the local legislation related to copyright protection, the Council has invited representative of the Intellectual Property Department to explain how NGOs should avoid copyright infringement and the statutory permitted acts at a webinar to be held in early February.
