The Labour and Welfare Bureau released the report of the Consultancy Study on Needs and Support Required of Carers of Elderly Persons and of Persons with Disabilities in Hong Kong on 9th of June. The report has given strategic directions on support for carers, service development, financing mode with a total of 11 specific recommendations divided into three tiers. The social welfare service sector has long been advocating carer-centred policy for carers. Following the release of the report, the sector concerns about ways to execute those strategic directions and recommendations, as well as the follow-up plans for developing implementation model, setting priority and setting role for the government and specific stakeholders.

HKCSS will organize two brainstorming sessions. Sector practitioners are invited to attend to take part in the discussion on the captioned issues and follow-up strategies. Details are as follows:
