Policy Research and Advocacy
Sustainable solutions and the development of society require in depth and reliable researches. We strive to develop the feasible policy proposals on the basis of data and views amongst our stakeholders. Our current research and advocacy focuses include poverty, social security, employment, housing, health, social care and social development. The candidate will play a vital part in shaping social policies and advocating for meaningful change in the community.
Officer (Ref No: HKCSS/006/2025)
Two-year renewable contract
Responsibilities:
- Lead Research Initiatives:Conduct and manage policy and social service research on the social development of Hong Kong, providing valuable insights that inform decision-making
- Advocate for Change:Advocate targeted social issues and policies through effective campaigns and advocacy efforts
- Engage with Stakeholders:Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to address key social issues and enhance service delivery
- Support Committees and Working Groups:Provide expert support and professional opinions to various working groups and committees within the Council, helping to guide discussions and strategies
Requirements:
- Degree in social sciences, or relevant discipline of social/human services
- Experience in conducting social service/ policy research and advocacy. Familiar with various statistical tools preferred
- High proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese with report writing abilities
- Innovative and capable to communicate effectively
- Demonstrated capacity in collaborating with different stakeholders and working independently
5-day work per week. 21-day annual leave.
