Marketing & Digital Communications Officer (2-year contract, Renewable)

[Ref.: FCU/MDCO/24/01]

 

Events Marketing Communications

  • Planning, and executing communications and marketing strategies to promote Oxfam Hong Kong’s fundraising and program projects to drive attendance, participate and support, such as the Oxfam Rice, Oxfam Trailwalker, Musical Marathon, etc.
  • Conduct market research to identify target audiences, key messaging, and optimal marketing channels for each event.
  • Collaborate and engage with the events team and key stakeholders including sponsors, partners, media and community organizations to align marketing efforts with event objectives and themes from planning to execution and production.
  • Develop compelling event messaging and content for various channels, including social media, website, email campaigns, and press releases. Responsible for marketing communications tasks, including media liaison and publicity, writing press release and features for fundraising activities in English and Chinese. S/He is required to render logistical support for media and communications work of the Unit.
  • Work with internal design team and external agencies to create visually appealing and engaging promotional materials and manage media planning and PR on media exposure and media coverage, and promotional collaborations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with press media, key influencers, and potential event attendees to expand the event’s reach and impact.
  • Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns to promote events across various online platforms including our own digital platforms and social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, wechat, Weibo and LitteRedbook etc. Keep up with good knowledge on new trend in digital for promotions.
  • Monitor and analyze digital marketing metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and make data-driven improvements, including attendance, engagement, and return on investment on media.
  • Cross team support on additional tasks and assignments as reasonably requested by his/her direct supervisor.

 

Digital Communications

  • Conduct regular website audits to identify areas for improvement, such as SEO, user experience, and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors for website design, development, and maintenance activities, including the launch of new pages, features, or functionalities.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics and provide regular reports on the performance and effectiveness of social media campaigns.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in social media, digital communications, and emerging technologies, and identify opportunities to incorporate them into our digital strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and create content for various communication channels, both online and offline.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications or Journalism with at least 7-8 years’ relevant working experience in marketing, advertising, or event management. Candidate with less experience will be considered as Marketing & Digital Communications Officer II.
  • Solid experience in planning and managing communications and public engagement events, including both online and offline engagement.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute effective marketing plans.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools and social media platforms, video editing skills preferred
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to measure and evaluate marketing performance.
  • Creative with good interpersonal and project management skills, and able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content.
  • Passion for the organization’s mission and commitment to making a positive social impact.
  • Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
