HKEX Impact Funding Scheme
Funding HK$10 Million to 11 Local Charities
Support the Development of Diverse Community Projects
(Press Release, 30 December 2021) The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (“HKCSS”), in partnership with HKEX Foundation (“the Foundation”), announces the result of the HKEX Impact Funding Scheme (“the Scheme”) today. With a total grant of HK$10 million, the Scheme supports 11 non-subvented local charities to develop diverse community projects with the mission of community recovery from Covid-19.
According to the four focus themes of the Foundation, i.e. Financial Literacy, Diversity and Inclusion, Poverty Relief and Environmental Sustainability, 11 community projects with potential for sustainable development have been selected, which include:

As a responsible corporate citizen, we seek to address sustainability and social issues at a local level, reflecting HKEX’s commitment to our collective future.”
Mr Chua Hoi Wai, Chief Executive of the HKCSS, said: “we thank the Foundation for supporting social services provided by small local charities. A wide range of social agenda and people in need have been covered by the funded projects. Apart from serving different age groups, the funded projects also cover children with special education needs, ethnic minorities and young women with specific support; there are also service projects bringing new elements to community development and sustainability. The Funding Scheme allows local charities to attempt innovative ideas in response to different social needs, thus building a sustainable and diverse society together”.
The 11 community projects will be launched from 1 January 2022 onwards, for a period of 12 to 18 months. More details could be found at hkcss.org.hk.

The project aims at supporting families living with cleft lip and palate patients to give the best and appropriate treatments to their kids, and to ensure that the patients receive appropriate care, treatment and rehabilitation services. |

The project aims at encouraging marginal youths and those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to express their emotions through sports photography, while using it as a channel to develop their career interests. |

The project aims at enhancing the confidence of the parents of SEN/ASD children in home-training, facilitating autistic youth’s career development, improving the quality of family time, and raising public awareness of autism through parental trainings, family activities, and workshops on career development. |

Empowering through Learning – Parent-child Language Programme for Junior NCS Students |
The project aims at helping South Asia ethnic minority (EM) women and children integrate into their local communities. Addressing the lack of cultural sensitivity faced by EM women and children, he project improves their Chinese proficiency and trains them to be qualified teaching assistants who can deliver Chinese-language classes to younger EM kids in the long-term. |
