Community development work is sometimes described as a sunset activity. However, many practitioners remain committed, employing various community work methods to foster community, enhance neighborhood capabilities, build social capital, or advocate for policy changes. In recent years, numerous practitioners have flexibly and innovatively applied community work methods to address the unique needs of their communities. Yet, the experiences behind these efforts are often not well organized, and there are few opportunities for the sector to reflect on the value of community development methods.

Therefore, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service is hosting the “Community Development Work Twilight Party” to gather practitioners exchange of experiences, and collectively explore the unique value of community development methods, as well as discuss how to continue this work in the new era.
