Champions for Good Awards 2024 – 2025 is Now Open for Applications
In past two decades, the Best Practice Award proudly celebrated remarkable achievements in the social service sector, showcasing valuable and impactful social services that had made a difference in our community. This year, HKCSS has revamped the award scheme and renamed it as the “Champions for Good Awards” to promote the pursuit of excellence by the welfare sector, and respond to the fast-evolving developments and new trends in the provision of social services. Applications for the “Champions for Good Awards 2024 - 2025” are now open. There will be six awards in the “Excellence in Driving Change” category and eight awards in the “Excellence in Service” category (with one Platinum Award and one Gold Award in each category). The most outstanding winner in each category will receive the highest honor of the Award Scheme - the “Grand Prix Award in Driving Change” and the “Grand Prix Award in Service”. In addition, the “Public Voting Award” is set up to encourage individuals and members of different sectors to vote for their favorite services or projects. Best Practice Award 2025 – 20th Anniversary and Award Program Revamp
For the past two decades, the Best Practice Award has proudly celebrated remarkable achievements in the social service sector, publicizing valuable lessons learned from those who have made a difference in our community through their impactful and invaluable service experiences. This year, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service is marking a new chapter in this journey with a revamp of the Award Scheme to respond to the fast-evolving developments and new trends of service provision within the sector. To highlight the unique features and strengths of services and programs while encouraging greater participation of organizations, we are streamlining the application process and modifying the submission framework. Furthermore, we will expand the award categories to welcome projects and services from the social service sector. Services or projects that bring positive impacts to the well-being of the community and proactively solve social problems are eligible to apply, and their strategies and intervention approaches can cover multiple aspects, including medical care, social housing, cultural development, environmental and sustainability development, and advancing and practicing for social agendas. Election of the Executive Committee and Standing Committees (2024-2026)
The 77th Annual General Meeting (the AGM) and election of members of the Executive Committee and Standing Committees (2024-2026) will be held on November 12, 2024 (Tuesday) at the Auditorium, 1/F, Duke of Windsor Social Service Building, 15 Hennessy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong, detailed arrangements will be announced in late-October. Nominations for the election of the following seats in the Executive Committee and Standing Committees are now invited: 8 members of the Executive Committee for serving a term of 2 years (2024-2026); and 8 members of each of the two Standing Committees - Standing Committee on Social Development and Standing Committee on Sector Development and Finance, for serving a term of 2 years (2024-2026); According to the Constitution of the Council, every official representative of Agency Members and Life Member shall have the right to nominate eligible persons for the above elections [Note 1].
