For the past two decades, the Best Practice Award has proudly celebrated remarkable achievements in the social service sector, publicizing valuable lessons learned from those who have made a difference in our community through their impactful and invaluable service experiences. This year, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service is marking a new chapter in this journey with a revamp of the Award Scheme to respond to the fast-evolving developments and new trends of service provision within the sector.
To highlight the unique features and strengths of services and programs while encouraging greater participation of organizations, we are streamlining the application process and modifying the submission framework. Furthermore, we will expand the award categories to welcome projects and services from the social service sector. Services or projects that bring positive impacts to the well-being of the community and proactively solve social problems are eligible to apply, and their strategies and intervention approaches can cover multiple aspects, including medical care, social housing, cultural development, environmental and sustainability development, and advancing and practicing for social agendas. We hope to engage diverse types of social service organizations and projects, regardless of their size.
In alignment with the evolving trends in the social service sector and the emergence of new services, we are expanding the award categories. The Service Awards will include the Elderly Service Award, Rehabilitation Service Award, Children and Youth Service Award, and Family and Community Service Award. Additionally, we will introduce several strategy and execution awards, as well as a “Most Impactful Public Voting Award,” determined by participant votes from the various sectors joining the S+ Summit cum Expo 2025.
The Award Ceremony will take place at the S+ Summit cum Expo 2025, which serves as a premier multi-sector collaboration platform for welfare services in Hong Kong. This annual event is organized by HKCSS and offers co-creation opportunities for stakeholders. Last year’s S+ Summit cum Expo attracted an impressive number of 6,000 participants from various sectors, bringing together government departments, the business community, philanthropic foundations, professional organizations, and academic institutions. This remarkable turnout underscores the collaborative spirit and broad engagement among stakeholders.
This year, we have engaged Ogilvy Public Relations as our strategic partner to increase awareness and exposure of the award program in the community. We aim to foster closer cooperation among key stakeholders to enhance their capability in cross-sectoral collaboration and to envision our future Hong Kong Community.
