Application period

From 3rd March to 10th April 2025 (12nn) 

With the funding HKD18 million from The Hongkong Bank Foundation in 2025, the HSBC Hong Kong Community Partnership Programme (CPP) continues to drive innovative district-based initiatives to disadvantaged groups, fostering community growth, cooperation with social inclusion and building a sustainable and resource-efficient future. 

  • Support innovative district-based community initiatives across 18 districts in Hong Kong, help disadvantaged communities build resilience and become future-ready and promote financial fitness and sustainable living
  • Funding focuses: Youth or Elderly, and their carers. In addition, cross-generational inclusion initiatives are welcome. 
  • Innovative projects with the following characteristics will be prioritised: Collaborating with different partners, such as NGOs, social enterprises, etc.
  • Donation for each project ranging from HKD500,000 to HKD1,000,000; Project duration up to 12 or 18 months. 

Applicants must be non-profit organisations registered under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap112) for at least 3 years. Applications from individuals and commercial ventures will not be considered. 
 
To inspire organisations to develop innovative community projects with aligned strategy and mindset, we are organising two Briefing and Sharing Sessions* on 11 February and 26 February 2025, inviting representatives from local charities and academic advisors to share ideas and insights. 
 
Funding focuses and application guidelines will be introduced in the Briefing & Sharing Sessions, and refer to details as follows. (*Limited seats, first come first served. Each of the session covers different themes and welcome to register more than one session if you are interested. To register for more than one session, please note that you can only attend one registered session in-person. The other registered session should be online participation.)

Sharing session – Financial education in the mind  

Guest Speakers: Ms. Ruby Yip, Second Center-in-Charge, Financial Education Centre, Hong Kong Family Welfare Society 

Ruby Yip is a recognized Financial Social Worker in both the U.S. and Hong Kong, advocating for financial education across all age groups. With extensive frontline experience, she effectively engages diverse audiences through impactful edutainment and training programs, as well as publications, to enhance financial literacy and promote informed decision-making within communities. 

Sharing session – Building resilience for Hongkongers with community-based psychology & tech 

Guest Speakers: Mr. Peter Chan, Managing DirectorTreeholeHK Limited 

Peter Chan is pioneering the integration of psychology and technology through innovative solutions. Leading a movement to make psychological well-being accessible via psychology-based education, corporate training, and MindForest.ai, an AI-driven coaching platform.

Sharing session – Climate change and resource security 

Guest Speakers: Mr. Leung Wing Mo, Former Assistant DirectorThe Hong Kong Observatory 

Mr. Leung is currently the adjunct professor of HK PolyU and CUHK, the spokeperson of the Hong Kong Meteorological Society, Board member of the environmental groups “The Green Earth” and “Conservation E3 Foundation”, and advisor of the Hong Kong Red Cross, Civil Engineering and Development Department, etc. 

 

Sharing session – Preparing the 21st century citizens within 19th and 20th century systems 

Guest Speakers: MrAlbert TsangAssistant Project ManagerJockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University 

Albert Tsang is a design researcher and educator with focus on social design, particularly concentrating on design in education, participation through design, co-design, as well as action research as a way of gaining knowledge. Tsang has been doing research and teaching in various design institutes. Tsang has been visiting lecturer for School of Design at PolyU for the last decade, he has also been doing research in various research labs such as DESIS Lab at HKDI and the non-profit organization Enable Foundation.

 

Targets: Representatives of charities registered under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap 112), People and organizations who are in social enterprises, social innovation units, or representatives of related organizations
