Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and creating an inclusive work environment have become a hot topic. To achieve workplace inclusion and allow individuals from multicultural backgrounds to unleash their potential, both employers and employees must work together.
As a diverse society, Hong Kong’s ethnic minority groups have become an important part of the community. According to the 2021 population census, there are nearly 620,000 ethnic minority individuals in Hong Kong, with over 70% aged between 25 and 54. These individuals, who are in the prime of their careers, are undoubtedly valuable but have not been fully utilized as a workforce. However, they still face numerous challenges and obstacles in employment due to various factors.
This event will explore the employment situation of ethnic minorities from both macro and micro perspectives, as well as how to co-create an ethnically diverse talent pool. Through cultural sensitivity training and practical experiences sharing, we aim to enhance participants’ cross-cultural understanding and strengthen the appreciation of multiculturalism. At the same time, we encourage employers to fully practice diversity and inclusion, and we will introduce how “A Practical Guide for Cultivating Ethnic Inclusion in Talent Development ” can assist corporates and organisations in creating a multicultural-friendly workplace environment.
