Christian Action was established in 1985 as a Hong Kong registered charitable organisation. Our mission is to serve those who are poor, disadvantaged, marginalised, displaced or abandoned, aiming to give them hope, dignity and self-reliance. Our service recipients include underprivileged children and youth, the unemployed, new arrivals, ethnic minorities, refugees, migrant domestic workers, as well as orphans and abandoned children in Qinghai; we also run social enterprise programmes. Our services are based on the example of Jesus Christ to serve all people regardless of their age, gender, nationality and religion.
Head of Administration (Including IT Department)
Job Summary
As the Head of Administration (Including IT Department), you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our organization’s administrative operations and managing our information technology infrastructure. This is a leadership position that requires both technical expertise and strong management abilities. This role will report to Executive Director.
Job Descriptions (including but not limited to the following)
- Team Management:

- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and promote professional development opportunities for team members.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to office administration and IT.
- Office Administration:
- Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the organization, including office management, vendor management, space planning, renovation, office insurance, procurement practice, and fixed asset management…etc
- Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage and monitor budgets related to office administration, ensuring cost-effective practices.
- Supervise administrative staff and provide guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
- Information Technology:
- Develop and execute the organization’s IT strategy in alignment with the overall goals and objectives.
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and security of the organization’s IT infrastructure, hardware, and software systems.
- Ensure the availability and reliability of IT systems, including network infrastructure, servers, databases, and user support services.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support the organization’s mission.
- Any other tasks assigned by Executive Director
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field, a Master’s degree is a plus;
- At least 15 years’ experience, with 5 years on senior management level;
- Problem-Solving Expertise: Understand the challenges and pain points within administrative functions, bringing professional experience to deliver effective solutions.
- Solid experience in both Office administration and IT management, preferably in the nonprofit/public sector or a similar environment;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of office administrative functions, including office management, procurement, and budgeting;
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing IT strategies and managing IT projects;
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding innovative solutions;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels;
- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements in the administration and IT domains;
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and conversant Mandarin).
