Senior Manager (Youth Development Service)

(Ref No: YDS2024-025)

  

Job Purpose:

The core purpose of this position is to create actions and organize work across work teams to engage the youth in the International Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement, so as to expand the extent of reach of humanitarian values and nurture the young members to be future leaders of the International Red Cross & Red Crescent movement. Senior Manager (YDS) works closely with the Head of Youth Development Service to develop and execute strategic plan with relevance to the HKRC corporate vision and mission

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of youth development service by providing situational and capacity analysis, proposing service strategies and recommendations, in line with the corporate strategic direction
  • Formulate strategic discussion points through regular review of latest social context, research papers, policy papers and exchange with other key stakeholders
  • Lead and supervise the team on execution of the service development and implementation plan, and evaluate the implementation plan to achieve the set targets / objectives in Youth Development Services
  • Guide the teams to develop capacity, system, policies and guidelines to assure quality, efficiency and continuous improvement in youth development service
  • Guide managers / deputy managers in planning and managing youth and volunteer leaders development, including needs assessment, people management, finance management, collaboration with external partners, compliance and implementing service plans and projects to achieve objectives in Youth Development Services
  • Establish and develop long-term strategic partnership with School Principals and Head of Youth Uniformed Groups in Hong Kong for facilitating the Red Cross youth development
  • Establish and develop collaborative partnership both internal and external stakeholders including volunteer leaders to formulate the youth developmental plan which align with the direction with Youth Development Service

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferably in social service subjects
  • Registered Social Worker (RSW) is preferable
  • Minimum 8 years’ post-graduation and related working experience in youth and volunteer service development, with at least 5 years’ experience at managerial level
  • Good knowledge of youth services, service management, people management, resource deployment and finance management
  • Familiar with the youth development trend, youth needs and development of youth uniformed group
  • Good communication skills with stakeholders and community partners
  • Mature personality, strategic minded with vision, strong interpersonal, management and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and strong decision-making skills
  • Good command of both written and oral English, excellent in Chinese/Cantonese/ Putonghua

 

Contract Period: 2 years (Renewable)
