Project Supervisor

Founded in 1887, we are a non-governmental organization committed to the development and provision of quality holistic health care service to the community of Hong Kong.  Our current services include elderly service, chaplaincy ministry, outreaching rehabilitation service, an institute promoting holistic health and holistic care, etc. We have a staff team of about 250 members.  The Foundation is collaborating with The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society (HKACS), with funding provided by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, in launching a new centre for the HKACS-Jockey Club “Walking Hand-in-Hand” Cancer Family Support Project for a period of three years. Our professional staff and cancer survivor volunteers will provide proactive support to patients and their caregivers through telephone counselling, local support meetings, home/hospital visits.  We are now looking for the following high-calibre professionals to join the new centre:

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the cancer team and provide supervision for the project and staff;
  2. Provide holistic support and outreach services to cancer patients and their carers;
  3. Duties include casework, counselling, home visits, support groups;
  4. Organize capacity building training programmes for service users;
  5. Mobilize community resources and volunteers to support service users; and
  6. Collaborate with hospitals, district organizations and other NGOs to provide a continuum of care services for patients and their families.

 

Requirements

  1. A University Degree in Social Work and registered under Social Workers Registration Ordinance;
  2. At least 5 years of working experience as Social Worker including 3 years in project management role;
  3. Experience in working with cancer patients will be an advantage;
  4. Knowledge of community resources and benefits is required;
  5. Sound communication, problem-solving and organization skills;
  6. Strong ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, partners and other healthcare professionals; and
  7. Required to work irregular hours whenever necessary.
